In 2003, a group of researchers from the University of Montréal discovered stone tools cut according to the Clovis tradition, which propelled the city of Frontenac to the front row of archaeological history in Quebec. These digs thus confirmed the presence of Amerindian hunters on the territory of the municipality at the end of the last ice period, more than 10,000 years ago. If you want to refresh and relax a little, Frontenac also has a public family beach along the lac aux Araignées. In summer, you can go swimming, canoeing or kayaking on the lake, and in winter, you can practice ice fishing and take dog sled rides. A paved cycle path is also heading to the lake, for those who want to tour the village by bike. Frontenac also has an outdoor skating rink, a movie theatre, a campground, a golf course and the Louise Gosford zec.
