Granby is the second most populated city of the Eastern Townships and received the title of « Cité des parcs et du bien-être” (City of parks and well-being) because of its 40 urban parks. It is possible to go cycling or in-line skating on the three cycle paths L’Estriade, La Montérégiade and La Granbyenne. You can also see car races at the autodrome, go fishing on the Yamaska-Nord River, skating on the ice ring of lac Boivin and attend outdoor shows and concerts. The Palace also welcomes the Festival international de la chanson de Granby where young talents are discovered each year. In the Centre d’interprétation de la nature du lac Boivin, several hiking trails are at your disposal, and you will be able to observe a diversified flora and several bird species. The parc national de la Yamaska, for its part, will charm you with its varied vegetation. The Réservoir Choinière is surrounded by forests and prairies, which serve as a refuge for several animal species, and when the time is clear, you can go kayaking, windsurfing or canoeing on the lake. You can also admire the Appalachian Mountains all around the lake. But the main attraction of the region is without any doubt the Granby Zoo and Amazoo water park, one of the most beautiful zoos of the province. In addition to the numerous animals of all kinds that you will find here, several activities are also offered. You will have the chance to go touch young sharks in a basin or enter the aviary to make friends with the little Oceania parrots. Also visit the Caverne des Débrouillards and the Parc des Manèges. In summer, the Amazoo water park invites you to try its wave pool (the largest in Quebec), its adventure river and its game basins.
